USER INSTRUCTIONS

How to use and reset DRYOUT®

If your product contains DRYOUT, these instructions apply — regardless of brand or form factor.

Gear includes electronic devices, equipment, and other moisture-sensitive hard goods. Some gear may not be electronic or powered; instructions related to powering on or off apply only when applicable.

Quick Start

Quick Start

Use Quick Start for the essential actions to take immediately after gear is exposed to moisture, including safe handling, placement, and resetting DRYOUT. This section is designed for fast reference when time matters.

Before You Begin

  • Power off wet gear immediately (if applicable).

  • Do not power on or apply heat directly to wet gear.

  • Recovery of moisture-damaged gear is not guaranteed, but early and proper use improves outcomes.

Recover Wet Gear

1. Power Down

  • Turn off gear immediately (if applicable).

  • Do not power it back on to “check if it works.”

2. Prepare Gear

  • Remove any protective case or cover.

  • If exposed to salt water, dirt, or contaminants, gently rinse the exterior with clean, fresh water.

  • Wipe away excess surface water.

3. Place Gear in a DRYOUT-Engineered Product

  • Place gear into the product that contains DRYOUT

  • Do not overcrowd or stack gear. Allow space around items.

  • Close the product as intended.

4. Allow Time

  • Typical moisture removal takes several hours and may take longer depending on exposure and conditions.

  • Avoid repeatedly powering on wet gear.

Reset DRYOUT (After Use)

1. Remove all gear.

2. Expose DRYOUT:

  • Open the product fully or remove the DRYOUT panel or insert from its case

3. Reset using sunlight, airflow, or controlled heat (up to 200°F / 93°C).

Heat is used to reset DRYOUT — not to dry wet gear.

Detailed Instructions

Use Detailed Instructions for complete, step-by-step guidance on recovering moisture-exposed gear and properly resetting DRYOUT. This section covers timing, electronic vs. non-electronic gear, and best practices for optimal results.

Recovering Moisture-Exposed Gear

1. Power Down & Prepare

  • Power off gear immediately after moisture exposure (if applicable).

  • Do not power on wet gear that contains electronics. Powering on can cause shorted circuits and permanent damage.

  • Do not apply heat directly to wet gear.

  • Remove protective cases or covers.

  • If exposed to salt water, sweat, dirt, or other contaminants:

    • Rinse the exterior with clean, fresh water.

    • Do not power on during this process.

  • Lightly wipe away excess surface water.

2. Place Gear into a DRYOUT-Engineered Product

  • Place powered-off gear into the product that contains DRYOUT.

  • Position gear normally; no special alignment is required.

  • Do not overcrowd or stack gear. Allow space for effective moisture removal.

  • Close the product as intended.

DRYOUT works automatically to begin removing visible and unseen moisture.

3. Allow Time for Moisture Removal

Typical moisture removal ranges from 6 to 24 hours, depending on:

  • Amount of moisture exposure

  • Type of gear

  • Ambient temperature and humidity

4. Allow Time

  • Typical moisture removal takes several hours and may take longer depending on exposure and conditions.

  • Avoid repeatedly powering on wet gear.

For electronic gear (if applicable):

  • Leave the gear powered off inside the DRYOUT-engineered product for at least 6 hours.

  • After 6 hours, you may power on the device to check functionality.

  • If the device does not function properly:

    • Power it back off immediately.

    • Return it to the DRYOUT-engineered product and allow DRYOUT to continue working for another 6 hours.

  • Repeat as needed, up to 24 hours total, for heavy moisture exposure.

  • Avoid repeatedly powering on wet electronics.

For non-electronic gear (firearms, tools, optics, etc.):

  • Allow DRYOUT to work for sufficient time, recognizing that some moisture may be hidden from view.

  • Look for the absence of active moisture symptoms, such as:

    • Ongoing condensation or fogging

    • Moisture beads or damp residue

    • New signs of corrosion or surface oxidation

  • Heavier exposure or enclosed assemblies may require additional time.

When in doubt, allow additional time before returning gear to use or storage.

Resetting DRYOUT

Resetting DRYOUT

Reset

DRYOUT is reusable and must be reset after absorbing moisture. This section explains how to safely release stored moisture and restore DRYOUT for continued use.

Universal Reset Rule

Empty. Expose. Dry. "Expose” means allowing DRYOUT to release moisture by opening the product or removing the DRYOUT panel or insert from its case.

Reset Instructions

  • Empty: Remove all gear.

  • Expose: Open the product fully or remove the DRYOUT panel or insert from its case.

  • Dry: Reset using sunlight, airflow, controlled heat (up to 200°F / 93°C), or a combination of these.

Performance Guidance

  • Sunlight or controlled heat resets DRYOUT effectively.

  • Combining heat with airflow provides the fastest reset.

  • Airflow alone may be used when heat is unavailable and may require more time.

Typical reset time ranges from 30 minutes to 6 hours, depending on conditions.

Safety & Limitatons

Safety & Limitations

Safety_Limitations

This section outlines important safety information, proper handling, and limitations of DRYOUT. Review these guidelines to ensure safe use and understand conditions where performance may be reduced or recovery is not guaranteed.

  • Not intended to be submerged.

  • Contains silica gel.

  • DO NOT EAT.

  • Choking Hazard: Contains small particles. Keep out of reach of children and pets.

  • Not intended for use with food or consumables.

  • PLEASE NOTE: We do not guarantee successful recovery of all moisture-damaged gear.

  • Repeated exposure to contaminants may reduce effectiveness over time.
